Transforms Data Integration with the SnapStore
Web-Based Store Enables Developers, ISVs, and Consultants to Offer Custom SnapLogic Connectors, Pipelines, and Consulting for the ‘Long Tail’ of Data Integration
SAN MATEO, Calif. – Nov 5, 2009 – SnapLogic, the DataFlow pioneer, announced today that it has commenced a 100-day private beta test of SnapStore, an online marketplace for connectors, pipelines, and data transformations (“Snaps”) that enable rapid and easy solutions to data integration challenges using the SnapLogic DataFlow data integration platform. Developers, ISVs, and consultants can easily partner with SnapLogic by creating Snaps using the open DataFlow API (“SnAPI”) and offering them for sale in the SnapStore. Snap developers and other participants receive 70% of the proceeds from the sale of Snaps, without having to pay an annual listing fee. During the beta test period, SnapLogic will refine its SnapStore developer programs for application partners, independent developers, data providers, and consultants. Invitations to the private beta may be requested at www.snaplogic.com/snapstore .
The SnapStore provides listing, rating, reviewing, provisioning, billing, and updating for Snaps and related services. SnapLogic provides quality assurance and certification of Snaps available in the SnapStore. Snap developers benefit not only from the revenue received from Snap sales, but also from SnapLogic’s SnapStore marketing programs, a quick and simple Snap submission process, and featured Snaps, ratings, and reviews in the SnapStore.
“Business Internet usage is producing more data than ever before,” said Marc Andreessen, whose venture capital firm, Andreessen Horowitz, recently invested in SnapLogic. “We invested in SnapLogic based on Gaurav Dhillon’s proven track record in the integration market and feel that SnapStore is a visionary step toward solving this large and growing business problem.”
“The endless combinations of applications, data sources, and required data transformations create a ‘long tail’ of data integration requirements that no single vendor can hope to address,” said Gaurav Dhillon, chief executive officer, SnapLogic. “SnapStore and the growing community of Snap developers will ensure the availability of a broad, deep selection of Snaps for both the most popular data sources and for specialized, one-off requirements. The SnapLogic DataFlow platform enables all Snaps to be easily supported and enhanced.”
