Recently, our CEO Gaurav Dhillon hopped across the pond for a trip to London, back to my homeland, to visit customers and colleagues. On the trip he had the opportunity to chat with The Times’ Technology and Business Editor, Katie Prescott. Their conversation resulted in some key insights and a handful of quotes from Gaurav on the future of work, AI’s impact on the workplace and society and how SnapLogic is catalyzing this immense growth area and driving the future of generative integration.
A new era for productivity in business
The rise of generative AI has ushered in a new era of business productivity gains via technological advancements that eliminate mundane and repetitive tasks, and no one wants to miss the party.
And we are helping companies take advantage of those opportunities by being the first to market with our generative integration solution, SnapGPT, made generally available earlier this month. SnapGPT brings “‘warp speedness to mundane tasks, building an easy-to-use bot on top of a range of LLMs that customers can plug into their systems to produce accurate responses.”
Using AI for integration is not new for SnapLogic. Building upon the success we’ve had in the last 7 years with Iris AI, our “self-driving” tool for enterprise integration, SnapGPT uses generative AI to make it even easier to automate and eliminate manual pipeline creation. SnapGPT realizes a long-anticipated vision of leveraging technology to truly make it easier and faster for technology teams to get simple things done and focus on strategic projects for the business.
Generative AI is a supplement, not a replacement
While many companies are quickly embracing AI to accelerate their business operations – Like Barnard College has – some sectors of the workforce are concerned that AI is coming for their jobs.
But not all workers should be worried that the chatbots will take their place. Gaurav points out that “[AI] lowers the price of mediocrity, but raises the price of real talent. Is the obituary writer out of business? No, because wit, humor, and insight is still required.”
While it is still up for debate as to how AI will impact many roles and jobs in the long term, AI has already boosted job growth in the short term. New job titles like “prompt engineer” are sprouting up and in high demand. In this new era, asking the right questions will become as important if not more important than knowing the answers.
SnapLogic delivers Generative Integration
Overall, this Times series sheds light on the profound impact of generative AI on society and how it’s already shaping the future of the workforce — and we know this is just the beginning. As the distinction between the “pre” and “post” generative AI periods become clearer, I am already certain that AI products like SnapGPT will continue to accelerate the pace of innovation and I’m thrilled to be onboard for the ride.
Gaurav and the SnapLogic team will be showcasing SnapGPT and our vision for generative integration on the Integreat Tour 2023, taking place in San Francisco on October 3 and London on November 2. Register today for your front row seat to the future.
