In recent months, there has been a surge of Generative AI-driven integration product announcements, accompanied by numerous promotional videos. SnapLogic stands out as one of the few vendors to have actually released an innovative product — SnapGPT — to its customers.
As Generative AI-driven integration products gain attention, addressing the security and privacy concerns they raise is paramount. SnapLogic is proud of SnapGPT, one of the first actual integration products on the market, which has piqued the interest of our customers and sparked conversations about security and privacy implications.
Data security
SnapLogic takes these concerns very seriously. We undergo annual third-party audits for compliance with AICPA SOC 2 Type 2, SSAE18 Type II, ISAE 3402 Type 2 standards, as well as HIPAA, including amendments from the HITECH Act. Our product development follows OWASP coding practices, and we are committed to upholding the same high standards for SnapGPT.
Data privacy
We currently use GPT-3.5-Turbo APIs from Microsoft Azure’s ChatGPT family of products. To guide ChatGPT in creating pipelines, we enhance prompts with context by extracting keywords, integrating relevant pipeline patterns, and referencing SnapLogic documentation. This process enables ChatGPT to generate pipeline outlines, which we then transform into fully functional pipelines. Although these pipelines may require fine-tuning, they significantly boost developer productivity.
During this process, we exclusively share SnapLogic-owned patterns. All communication with ChatGPT APIs is encrypted, and we apply a GPT-3.5-Turbo setting that prevents the use of sent information for training purposes. The only customer-specific data sent to ChatGPT is the prompt itself, and we have obtained assurances from Microsoft that this information will not be used by them or OpenAI in any manner.
