Boston University Taps SnapLogic to Ace Application and Data Integration

SnapLogic’s Enterprise Integration Cloud automates financial aid and admission processes for 34,000 students

SAN MATEO, Calif. — October 23, 2018SnapLogic, the leader in self-service application and data integration, today announced that Boston University, one of the largest private universities in the United States and one of the largest employers in Boston, has selected SnapLogic’s Enterprise Integration Cloud platform to remove the data-related barriers to education for its 34,000 students. Using SnapLogic’s self-service, no-code platform, Boston University now integrates data and applications twice as fast in order to automate important processes such as admissions, financial aid, and class scheduling — removing the hurdles that students, staff, and faculty previously faced as a result of the University’s aging data architecture.

Cloud computing in the education sector is expected to grow by 26 percent by 2021. As universities continue to embrace the cloud, they need an integration platform that accelerates operations, streamlines the student experience, and supports modern digital processes. Prior to using SnapLogic, Boston University’s IT team used a mix of homegrown ETL tools as well as legacy technology for their application and data integration needs. IT would have to submit support tickets to their data integration vendor and manually write code to fulfill integration requests when the source code needed adjustments. To address these challenges, Boston University chose SnapLogic’s low-code platform to standardize integration processes for all IT departments across the campus.

“With SnapLogic as the iPaaS platform of record for Boston University, we now have a single source of truth for all our data, allowing us to establish a faster, more reliable admissions process for prospective students,” said Carmine A. Granucci, assistant director of integration at Boston University. “Our IT team has now become a trusted party among departments and campus organizations, which further empowers our students, faculty, and staff to effectively share knowledge across academia and research.”

“Boston University is committed to modernizing their IT infrastructure, and we’re thrilled they’ve chosen SnapLogic as the integration standard to build rapid integrations, migrate data to new cloud applications, and help them retire legacy systems,” said Allen Lovett, senior vice president of Global Field Operations at SnapLogic. “With modern systems in place and seamless information flow across multiple departments and campus organizations, the university’s IT team is automating key processes, building and sharing knowledge, and speeding decision-making for students, faculty and staff alike.”
